Project Overview
Armor of God approached us seeking a brand elevation that would position them as a premium player in the faith-driven streetwear market. Founded in 2021 by entrepreneurs with deep connections to both New Zealand and Australian cultures, the brand needed a visual identity that would communicate their unique perspective while creating a strong foundation for growth.
Strategic Approach
Our process began with extensive research into the premium streetwear landscape, identifying opportunities for differentiation within this competitive sector. We discovered that while the market had established players, none effectively addressed the intersection of faith and contemporary street culture—creating a perfect positioning space for Armor of God.
The brand's inspiration from Ephesians 6:12 provided a powerful conceptual framework that we translated into a cohesive visual language. Rather than creating an overtly religious aesthetic, we developed a system that communicates spiritual purpose through sophisticated design elements that resonate with modern streetwear culture.
Design Solution
The identity system centers around a unified typographic treatment of "ARMOROFGOD"—representing the inseparable connection between faith and action that forms the brand's core philosophy. This approach creates immediate visual impact while communicating the deeper message that faith requires tangible expression.
We developed a distinctive monogram that merges traditional blackletter elements with contemporary geometric forms, creating a symbol that works effectively across diverse applications. Complementing this, a system of circular badges provides flexible supporting elements that reinforce the brand narrative.
The color palette employs a sophisticated monochromatic base punctuated by deep oxblood red—a distinctive choice that signals premium positioning while creating memorability in a space often dominated by primary colors. This restrained approach allows materials, craftsmanship, and messaging to take center stage.
Results
The resulting identity system successfully balances premium streetwear aesthetics with authentic spiritual purpose. It provides Armor of God with a distinctive visual voice that stands apart in their market while remaining true to their foundational values.
The flexible system accommodates growth across physical and digital touchpoints, from product applications to retail environments and social media.
